About workplace rehabilitation

What is a workplace rehabilitation provider?

A workplace rehabilitation provider helps injured workers recover at work or return to work. In NSW, providers must be approved by SIRA to deliver services in the workers compensation scheme.

Who pays for workplace rehabilitation?

Approved workplace rehabilitation services are funded by the workers compensation insurer as part of the claim. There is no cost to the worker or the employer.

Is IVARA approved by SIRA?

Yes. IVARA Pty Limited is approved by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority to provide services related to return to work with the pre-injury employer, and services related to return to work with a new employer.

Who are your consultants?

Our consultants are qualified allied health and rehabilitation professionals who meet SIRA's requirements for workplace rehabilitation consultants.

Referrals

Who can make a referral?

Insurers usually arrange workplace rehabilitation, but employers, treating doctors and workers can all ask for IVARA. Send us a referral and we'll work with the insurer to get started.

Can a worker or employer choose IVARA?

Yes. Workers and employers can ask the insurer to use IVARA. The insurer arranges and approves the services.

How quickly will you respond?

We confirm receipt of a referral the same day and contact the worker, employer and insurer within 24 hours.

What information do you need?

Worker and employer contact details, the claim number, the date of injury, the latest certificate of capacity, and anything specific you need from us.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across Greater Sydney. Contact us about locations outside Sydney.

For workers

What will my consultant do?

Your consultant works with you, your employer, your doctor and the insurer to plan a safe return to work, explains the process, and supports you on the ground.

Does my doctor still decide what I can do?

Yes. Your treating doctor remains in charge of your medical care and capacity. We give them information about your job to help them make informed decisions.

Can I have an interpreter?

Yes. Tell us your preferred language and we'll arrange an interpreter for meetings.

What happens if I can't go back to my old job?

If returning to your pre-injury employer isn't possible, we can help you identify a new job goal, access training, and find and settle into new work.

Ready to refer a worker?
