What your consultant does

Your consultant is on the side of your recovery.

  • Listens first

We start by understanding your injury, your job, your goals and anything that’s worrying you.

  • Works with your employer

We help your employer find duties that suit your restrictions, and make sure they’re written down clearly.

  • Keeps your doctor in the loop

Your treating doctor stays in charge of your medical care. We share information about your job so they can make informed decisions.

  • Explains the process

Workers compensation can be confusing. We explain what’s happening and what comes next, in plain language.

  • Helps with new work if needed

If you can’t return to your old employer, we help you find a new job goal and support you into it.

Your first meeting

We’ll call you within 24 hours of the referral to arrange a time that suits you.

  • Where

Usually at your workplace, a convenient meeting place, or by video if that works better.

  • What to bring

Your latest certificate of capacity, your claim number if you have it, and any questions.

  • Support person

You’re welcome to bring a family member, friend or union representative.

  • Language

If you’d prefer to speak in another language, tell us and we’ll arrange an interpreter.

Common questions from workers

Do I have to pay for this?

No. Workplace rehabilitation is paid by the workers compensation insurer as part of your claim.

Can I ask for IVARA as my provider?

Yes. You can tell your insurer or employer that you would like IVARA to support you. You can also contact us directly and we'll help get things started.

Who do you work for?

We are engaged by the insurer, but our job is to help you recover at work or find suitable new work. We work with everyone involved to make that happen, and we're open with you about what we share and why.

What happens to my personal information?

We only collect and share information needed to support your return to work, and we handle health information under Australian and NSW privacy law. Read our privacy policy for details.

What if I'm unhappy with the service?

Talk to your consultant or contact us directly. If it isn't resolved, you can raise it with SIRA or the Independent Review Office. See our feedback and complaints page.
